Top Producers for February 2013

Several of our Help-U-Sell offices loved February! Six of them made our top producers list last month.

1) Charlotte’s Help-U-Sell Buy Today closed eight sides to tie for first place. Living up to the office’s name, more than half of the sides were buyer’s side.
1) No stranger to the top, Tucson’s Help-U-Sell Galleria Realty also had eight sides, four of which were seller, two buyer and one was a dual-sided transaction.
2) In second place, Help-U-Sell Select Real Estate, out of Eugene, Ore., came in with seven sides. Fairly evenly balanced, the sides were composed of three seller sides, two buyer sides and one dual-sided transaction.
2) Also with seven sides, Greensboro, N.C.’s Help-U-Sell Triad Realty had four buyer sides, one seller side and one dual-sided transaction.
3) Help-U-Sell Federal City Realty, in Washington, D.C., finished February with five seller sides and one buyer side.
3) Down in Alabama, Help-U-Sell Quad Cities Realty also had six sides, one buyer, one seller and two dual-sided transactions.

Broker Focus: Lona Murphy

Lona Murphy, broker/owner of Help-U-Sell Select Real Estate in Eugene, Ore., has owned her franchise since April 2011. In that short amount of time, she took the office, previously known as Help-U-Sell By Owner, and made it into an even more successful business.

Murphy attributes the growth to a strategic approach that started with the name change. She wanted to ensure that potential clients knew that her office offered full representation, not just assistance to FSBOs. She improved the company image by moving the office from a retail location to a corner office downtown. New marketing materials, taking advantage of inexpensive online marketing tools, and focusing on being proactive and following up furthered the efforts to be seen as a great option for home sellers in Eugene.

The office also incorporated Murphy’s existing rental program into the revenue stream. Their 20 rental units have provided a consistent source of income and of buyers and sellers. She says their property management clients have made many referrals to her office.

One of the biggest challenges Select Real Estate has encountered has been from competitors claiming Help-U-Sell is a discount brokerage and that other agents won’t show its listings. Murphy and fellow broker Tiffany Guerin assertively overcome objections using facts and statistics. “We don’t use negative references to other Realtors,” she says. “[But] we don’t back down.” She has rarely lost a listing to a traditional brokerage.

Murphy has begun to turn down certain listings, however. “I don’t take overpriced listings anymore,” she says. Her slogan is “I don’t list properties to list them; I list properties to sell them.”

For new Help-U-Sell brokers, she advises not to take it personally when traditional agents and brokers say you’re inferior. “Persevere and be committed to what you do, and that’s to help people and save them money,” Murphy says.

Winter Warm-Up Contest Update

Top Producers for December 2011

Our top producers for December didn’t let the holidays or the cooler temperatures slow them down! The three offices had a combined total of 34 closed sides to finish out 2011.

1) Help-U-Sell Real Estate Specialists, located in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., moves up from a tie for second place in November to the top spot with 13 closed sides.

2) Oregon’s Help-U-Sell Select Real Estate also improves on ranking, going from third to second and closing 11 sides.

3) Help-U-Sell Select Services, out of Fort Myers, Fla., took third place with 10 closed sides.

Top Producers for November 2011

Congratulations to our top producers for November. Competition was fierce last month, with four offices tied for second place, three of them based in Arizona.

1) North Carolina’s Help-U-Sell Triad Realty closed 10 sides to take first place.

2) Help-U-Sell Galleria Realty closed seven sides, part of a four-way tie for second place. The office is in Tucson, Ariz.

2) Help-U-Sell Hometown Realty, out of York, Penn., also closed seven sides.
